Gymkhana 12: Starring Travis Pastrana & the Subaru GL Wagon

The video begins with Travis Pastrana parachuting down from the sky into the streets of Fort Lauderdale, FL. From there, the latest Gymkhana video turns into an action-packed escalation of jaw-dropping stunts. First, Travis barrels down the streets in a perpetual drift, fishtailing his way to the bridge, where he grinds down the rail guards as though his Subaru GL Wagon were a skateboard. 

We don't want to give everything away, but a few highlights include a dance of death with a monster truck turned upright and pirouetting on its nose in a perilous wheelie. Travis and the GL Wagon also fly over a helicopter at 165 MPH that's positioned in the gap between two bridges. Other highlights include a race with a fighter jet, but there's so much more to behold in this chase scene to beat all chase scenes. 

Specs of the Subaru GL Wagon

The true star of the show is the 1983 Subaru GL Wagon. The Hoonigan team suped it up with a: 

  • Sequential six-speed gearbox
  • Flat-four scooby motor
  • WRX-spec suspension
  • Custom differential package
  • Carbon fiber body panels
  • Front and rear hydraulic aero flaps
  • Roof-mounted NACA duct
  • Electro-pneumatically controlled active rear wing. 

While the Subaru GL Wagon is better known as a family commuter car from the 80s, all the tweaks above allowed this custom creation to achieve a whopping 862 hp with a top speed of 165 MPH!
