Off-Road Parks and Trails in Florida

Osceola National Forest

Located in Sanderson, FL, the Osceola National Forest is about 163.1 miles north of Orlando. Take the Florida Turnpike to I-75, and you can make it in 2.5 hours. This gorgeous coastal forest is thick Saw Palmetto and Pine. Through the thicket run many Florida off-road trails made of hard-packed sand, which means that you can go for an off-road drive without getting mud in your wheel wells.

Redneck Yacht Club Mud Park

Located in Punta Gorda, FL, the Redneck Yacht Club Mud Park is about 135.8 miles south of Orlando (a 2.5-hour drive down Highway 17 S). This off-road park in Florida offers Deltona drivers 4 different mudholes and numerous trails across 880 acres of land. It also features campsites and fun events throughout the year!

Graveyard Mud Park

If you're searching for off-road parks in Florida, Graveyard Mud Park should be at the top of your list. Located in Jasper, FL, you can get to the park from Orlando by taking 1-75 N for 181.9 miles. This mud park offers 3 mudholes and rough roads through thickly wooded areas. With 8.7 inches of ground clearance and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, your Subaru Outback won't have any issues. What's more, the "Graveyard" offers plenty of shaded camping areas!

Croom Wildlife Management Area

Just 10 miles north of Tampa and 68.5 miles west of Orlando, the Croom Wildlife Management Area is a coastal woodland rich with longleaf pines and cypress trees. This area is a small sliver of the Withlacoochee State Forest and follows the Withlacoochee River for 13 miles. It's also home to fox squirrels, white-tailed deer, swallow-tailed kites, and alligators. Serving up some of the most beautiful off-road trails in Florida, Croom Wildlife Management Area is a must on your list when it comes to off-roading in Florida.

Big Cypress National Preserve

Our favorite on this list, the Big Cypress Nation Preserve is located 225.6 miles south of Orlando in the Florida Everglades. It features over 278 miles of off-road trails through some of the most pristine swampland on earth. Of course, you'll see plenty of alligators, but you may also see bears and panthers. Big Cypress is about as wild as Florida gets. With 9.2 inches of ground clearance, a Subaru Forester Wilderness isn't going to have any issues fording water or clearing bramble.
